At the PRFHS meeting held  Oct 21,

  • we decided to provide $3,500 funding for Attendants at the Forestry Museum for 2015. This will provide the PRHMA an extra year to adjust its personnel budget, and will ensure normal service by the Forestry Museum next summer.
  • we approved a $50 honorarium to Theatre Now for their "Train robbery" performance at Fall Fair
  • We approved $700 for a manpack leaf blower to be used on the trail and railroad
  • We developed a revised process for management of Willingdon Beach Trail windfalls:
    • we noted purchase of Millennium Park trees by the City, and agreed that the Parks Foreman will do the danger tree assessment and resolution
    • we decided not to replace the PRFHS chainsaw; relying instead on a roster of chainsaw owners for windfall clearing
    • we noted the discussion with the city towards getting a shed near the campground office for our "work party"signage, trail tools, paint and brushes, safety equipment, gate pass etc

Meeting minutes will be posted soon.

We presented their prizes Sep 2, 2014.

Tickets were $5.00; available from the Forestry Museum, from members, from the Tug Ghum gallery, the Paradise Valley Railroad when operatng, and at Forestry Heritage events.

Thanks to all who participated. We plan to do a similar raffle next year.

Website Transition

Dave Florence has been busy converting the website to a new tool called Jooma rather than Microsoft Front Page. He has blended the old site to the new for pages not cut over yet, and there will be some broken links for a while .

Seafair Float

We've decided to put in a float for the Sea Fair Parade Saturday July 26 .

Hans Maurer is leading the project. Hans, Dave, Mike and Dan are on the team so far.

The plan so far is to use Dan's 20' trailer, load on the train, with mentions of the Heritage Society, Willingdon Beach Trail and Forestry Museum. The Theme this year is a "Sea Theme", so we will not try hard to fit in with that.

We need more participants - if you can help, please call Hans Maurer.

Membership Drive

We've lost some good people lately, so we need to recruit replacements. All members are requested to look for possible new members.
